Slow Conscious Fashion - Our Approach
At the core of JOANNA MEFIRE is the ethos of slow fashion. We practice this by making items to order, meaning that a garment is only made once a new order comes in. This minimizes our carbon footprint, wastage, and promotes eco-conscious purchases. All prints are made in-house and also only printed-on-order. Our approach - ‘produce what you sold’ instead of ‘sell what you produce,’ reduces wastage and supports conscious production. We use sustainable digital printing, saving energy and water by eliminating rotary screen washing. Precise ink application reduces waste and excess dye. Our approach includes GOTS-certified dyes, 95 % biodegradable fabrics and FSC-certified recyclable cardboard mailers. We are committed to transparent ethical production. This means providing above-fair wages, ensuring safe and healthy working conditions, and fostering a supportive work environment. All garments are proudly designed and produced in Germany, supporting local craftsmanship and reducing our carbon footprint.
